CLEMSON, S.C. – The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Jeanine Williams on day one of the Bob Pollock Invitational.
Williams finished in second in the 60m Hurdles in both the prelims (8.10) and in finals (8.11). She now moves to third on the national list.
“Ebony Forbes showed a big improvement today along with Olivia Moore who had a good day of vaulting,” added women’s track and field head coach, Alan Drosky.
Forbes finished fifth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.47, and Moore placed in fifth in pole vault with a clearance of 3.95m.
Other standouts from the day were Ben Jean – who finished second in the 400m with a time of 47.52, while both Maurice Simpson (6.83) and Wesley Watkins (6.85) left the day with new PR’s in the 60m.
Overall the Jackets had 21 top-10 finishes to go along with several PR’s for the day.
The Yellow Jackets will begin competition tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (field events) and at noon (track events) for the final day of the Bob Pollock Invitational.
