GREENSBORO, N.C. – After helping her team to a 4-1 record, including a sweep of Boston College and a win over No. 8 ranked Georgia, Kelsi Weseman has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week.
Weseman batted .500 as the Yellow Jackets went 4-1 last week, including a sweep of conference foe Boston College and a 2-0 shutout of in-state rival and eighth-ranked Georgia. The Hutto, Tex., native had five RBIs on six hits and scored five runs. She slugged .833 on the week with a double and a home run, and didn’t strike out in her 12 at-bats.
In conference play, Weseman batted .547 accumulating four of her six hits, including both extra base hits, three of the five RBIs, a slugging percentage of 1.149 and an on base percentage of .700.
Weseman, and the rest of the Jackets are back in action Tuesday night with a game at LSU, their first ever against the Tigers.
