THE FLATS – Giving fans a first look at the 2018 Yellow Jackets, Georgia Tech volleyball will host its annual gold and white scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. at O’Keefe Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets will play a full five sets. Admission to the event is free and parking is available free of charge in the McCamish lots. The match will be followed by an autograph session with the Yellow Jackets.
Head coach Michelle Collier enters her fifth season at the helm of the program. With eight new faces taking the court this season, Sunday provides a chance for fans to get familiar with the 2018 roster. The Jackets return 11 from the 2017-18 squad, including three starters: junior Kodie Comby and sophomores Cori Clifton and Sam Knapp.
Fans will have another opportunity to catch the Jackets in action before the regular season starts as they take on Auburn on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. in an exhibition match.
The Yellow Jackets open their season on Friday, Aug. 24 when they host Idaho State (12 p.m.) and Winthrop (7 p.m.) at O’Keefe Gymnasium as part of the Hyatt Regency Invitational. Tech also hosts Abilene Christian and Georgetown on Saturday, Aug. 25 as part of the tournament. Fans can purchase single game and season tickets for the upcoming 2018 season here.
