ATLANTA, GA (Sept. 14) – Georgia Tech’s volleyball team rebounded Tuesday evening with a 3-0 win (15-13, 15-8, 15-6) over cross-town rival Georgia State at O’Keefe Gymnasium, after having dropped three of four over the weekend at home in the Georgia Tech/Courtyard by Marriott Classic.
The Jackets (5-3) struggled offensively for the second consecutive match, hitting just .236 from the field as a team, however that proved to be good enough for the Tech victory.
Sophomore middle blocker Kyleen Bell (Rocklin, Calif.) led the Jackets with 12 kills offensively, while senior setter returned from a weekend illness to contribute 21 assists and 12 defensive digs for Tech.
Georgia State (3-7) managed to hold the lead for portions of games 1 and 2, before the Jackets prevailed in each of those games.
Tech returns to action on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. with a home date against Illinois State.
