THE FLATS – Georgia Tech volleyball (23-5, 14-4 ACC) has sold out of both all-session and individual round tickets for the duration of the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament set for Friday and Saturday in O’Keefe Gymnasium. All available tickets sold out within 42 minutes.
Although general admission tickets for the tournament matches have been sold out, 100 tickets remain available for Georgia Tech students with free admission at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. A valid BuzzCard must be displayed in order for students to receive a ticket to the match.
The sellout of all tournament matches follows the Jackets selling out nine of their final 10 regular season home matches.
The first round of the tournament will begin with South Carolina taking on Western Kentucky at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by a matchup between Georgia Tech and The Citadel at 7 p.m., also on Friday. The second round will be played between the winners of Friday’s matches on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Tech recently earned the No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament to host the first two rounds for a decorated regular season, encapsulated by six Atlantic Coast Conference yearly awards. Junior outside hitter Julia Bergmann was named ACC Player of the year and unanimous selected First Team All- ACC, along with fellow unanimous selection senior right-side hitter Mariana Brambilla and senior setter Matti McKissock, while senior middle blocker Breland Morrissette was tabbed Second Team All-ACC, and freshman outside hitter Bianca Bertolino garnered ACC All-Freshman Team honors.
