Volleyball Jumps to No. 5 in USA Today/AVCA Coaches Poll

Sept. 15, 2003

The Georgia Tech volleyball team jumped five spots to No. 5 in this week’s USA Today/AVCA Coaches Poll. The Yellow Jackets, who last weekend defeated three nationally ranked teams, are currently 8-0 and off to the best start in school history since 1996. Tech received 1,286 points while defending national champion Southern California is atop the poll receiving 1,625 points.

The ranking represents the highest ranking in school history and also the highest ranking achieved by any Atlantic Coast Conference school.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Friday when they play host to No. 24 Wisconsin, South Florida and Western Carolina in the Georgia Tech Invitational in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
