THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech volleyball team will put its 9-0 home record on the line this weekend when it hosts two nationally ranked teams from the Sunshine State. The Yellow Jackets face the No. 12 Florida State Seminoles on Friday at 8:30 p.m., before a Sunday showdown with the No. 24 Miami Hurricanes at 1 p.m.
The Florida State volleyball match is sold out. There is a limited number of tickets being held for Georgia Tech students and they will be let in on a first come first served basis. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and please arrive early!

Friday’s match marks the Yellow Jackets annual Dig Pink match. There will be a variety of prizes raffled off and pink merchandise on sale with all of the proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
In addition, the team will don pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off on www.RamblinWreck.com for two weeks following the match. Again, all proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Sunday’s match is “Camper Day”. Any GT volleyball camper will receive free admission with their camper T-shirt.
Georgia Tech (15-5, 6-3 ACC)
Coming off its seventh-straight victory in the series against in-state rival Georgia, the Georgia Tech volleyball team will look to keep its home hot streak alive at O’Keefe Gym.
The Yellow Jackets have a balanced attack and back row with three players that have over 100 kills and four players that have over 100 digs.
As a team, Tech is first in the league in service aces (1.91/set), second in hitting percentage (.275) and third in opponent hitting percentage (.162).
Noteworthy – Senior Monique Mead reached the 2,000 career point milestone against Wake Forest when she recorded 20 points. Mead now has 2,026 points on the season and is the first player to accomplish the feat in the last 10 years.

The Seminoles currently enjoy a 10-game winning streak and are 7-1 when playing on the road. Florida State’s only conference loss was in four sets at Miami.
Sitting atop the ACC standings, Florida State leads the league in hitting percentage (.294) and kills/set (14.38). Sareea Freeman leads all players in the conference with a .452 hitting clip and Ashley Neff is tops in blocks (1.58/set).

Miami has won its last seven matches, and most recently swept Maryland and slipped by Boston College, 3-2. Before the Hurricanes head to Atlanta on Sunday, they face Clemson on Friday. The Hurricanes entered the AVCA Coaches Poll on Monday for the first time this season at No. 24, marking the 11th time in program history UM has been ranked.
Miami’s offensive attack is led by five different players with over 125 kills apiece. Taylor Hollins leads the charge with 224 kills and a 3.15 kills/set average.
