Two Jackets Named to Academic All-District Team

THE FLATS – Two members of the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team, Keshav Chopra and Brandon McKinney, have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

Nominated student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition. The student-athlete is eligible once they complete one full calendar year at their institution and is at least a sophomore athletically/academically.

Both Chopra and McKinney are three-time ITA Scholar-Athletes and ACC Academic Honor Roll members.

Keshav Chopra (Junior, Business Administration):
Chopra concluded the 2022-23 season with a 20-11 overall singles record and 18-8 spring record. Playing primarily at the No. 3 position for Tech, the junior was nationally ranked throughout majority of the spring and defeated several opponents who also ranked on the top singles list. Near the end of the spring season, Chopra went 5-0 in doubles with Andres Martin and earned ACC Doubles Team of the Week on April 18.

Brandon McKinney (Graduated Senior, Business Administration)
McKinney served as an important doubles player for Tech during the spring season. He aided the Jackets in clinching the doubles point against six teams including a nationally-ranked Georgia and on Senior Day. McKinney just recently graduated from the Institute with a bachelors degree in finance.
