BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Georgia Tech track and field wrapped up the Auburn Indoor Invite Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Senior Julienne McKee highlighted the day with third and fourth finishes in the long and triple jumps, respectively.
The Jackets competed among 12 teams, including two top-25 teams on the women’s side – No. 5 Georgia and No. 19 Florida State – and four top-25 men’s squads – No. 7 Florida State, No. 13 Georgia, No. 16 Ole Miss and No. 24 Alabama.
McKee took third in the long jump with a leap of 6.11m (20-50.00) and fourth in the triple jump (12.40m; 40-08.25). On the track, McKee finished 10th and first for Tech in the 200 meters with a time of 24.75.
In the men’s field events, Brandon Mbaba placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.80m (45-02.50).
On the track, Broderick Snoddy qualified for the finals in the men’s 60 meters with a time of 6.76 and placed fourth in the finals in a time of 6.71.
Morgan Jackson took ninth to lead Tech in the women’s mile run (4:56.81). Also in the middle distance category, Zack Fanelty took fifth in the 800 meters (1:52.44) followed by Nat Estes in sixth (1:52.87).
The Yellow Jackets are back in action Jan. 24-25 in Nashville, Tenn. at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
