TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Senior Shawn Roberts won the 800 meters to highlight Georgia Tech track and field’s final day Saturday at the Alabama Relays at Sam Bailey Stadium.
Roberts and Zack Fanelty finished one and two, respectively in the 800 meters. Roberts finished first in a time of1:48.45 and Fanelty followed in a time of1:50.63. Cole Jackob also finished in the top 10 in seventh place (1:51.89).
Also on the track for the men, Spencer Allen logged a personal-record time in the 110-meter hurdles (14.61) and Broderick Snoddy took seventh in the 100 meters with a career-best time of 10.60.
On the women’s side, Julienne McKee placed second in the long jump (6.21m; 20-4.50) and Samantha Becker placed eighth in the pole vault (3.87m; 12-8.75).
Malin Trollsas placed first for Georgia Tech and 12th overall in the 800 meters in a personal-record time of 2:15.04.
The relay team of Jazmyne Taylor, Christina Pensock, Ama Larbi and Donjhae Jones took 10th in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 47.85 and the same group took fifth in the 4×400-meter relay in a time of 3:46.19.
The Jackets are back in action next weekend Friday and Saturday when they host the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Griffin Track.
