Track & Field Finishes Day 2 of the Penn Relays

THE FLATS – After competing in a variety of events on Friday, the Georgia Tech track and field team concluded its second day at the Penn Relays. Tech will close out the Penn Relays tomorrow, starting with the men’s discus at 11:30 a.m.

Tech had athletes qualify for the championship round in two different events. Sheleah Harris took home second in the women’s 100m with a time of 11.66 and will return tomorrow to race in the event. The women’s 4x400m relay team, comprised of Lydia Troupe, Ilene Soleyn, Jill Catton and Anna Witherspoon, also qualified for the championships with a time of 3:55.47.

Leif Andersen, Parker Buchheit, Harrison Fultz and Charlie Smith competed in the men’s distance medley relay. The group finished in 13th place with a time of 9:58.85.

Mikayla Williams represented Tech in the field events. She finished 14th in the women’s long jump with a mark of 5.60 meters (18-4.5).
