Track & Field Concludes Spec Towns & Flames Invite

THE FLATS – After a busy Friday, the Georgia Tech track and field teams finished up competition at the Georgia’s Spec Towns Invite and Lee University’s Flames Invite.

SPEC TOWNS INVITE
The Jackets earned top three finishes in three events. Jameson Miller represented Tech in the men’s 400m with a third-place time of 47.76.

In the 800m, Kayla Rose claimed second place for the women (2:10.94) and Allie Walker followed behind in third place (2:12.22). On the men’s side, Chris Cherono took home second (1:53.17) and Harrison Fultz crossed the finish line in third place (1:53.37).

In the high jump, Shanty Papakosta (1.76m/5-9.25) and Omar Arnaout (2.00m/6-6.75) placed second in the women’s, men’s events.

Zach Jaeger led Tech in the men’s 1500m with a fourth-place time of 3:48.07. Leif Andersen followed behind in fifth (3:48.16) and Myles Collins placed sixth (3:48.28, PR).

FLAMES INVITE
The women dominated in the 5000m with Helena Lindsay taking first in the event (16:16.33, PR). Claiming the third to fifth place spots in the event was Mary Brady (16:27.01), Liz Galarza (16:35.67) and Katy Earwood (17:05.97).

In the men’s 5000m, James Cragin was the first Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line in third place (14:18.54). John Higinbotham took home sixth place in the event (14:23.60).

Erin Fegans earned an impressive finish in the women’s 10,000 meters, coming in 14th place with a time of 36:53.19.
