Three Jackets Compete At USATF Outdoor Championships

THE FLATS – Three members of the Georgia Tech track and field team in Brandon Lasater, Shawn Roberts and Julienne McKee will travel to Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State for the United State Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which begin Thursday-Sunday.

The first Yellow Jackets to compete will be Lasater and Roberts in the first round of the men’s 800 meters Thursday at 7:40 p.m. ET.

McKee will take on the final round of the women’s triple jump Thursday at 8:40 p.m. ET.

Should Lasater and Roberts advance, the semi-finals in the 800 meters is set for Friday at 11:26 p.m. ET and the finals are slated for Sunday at 4:40 p.m. ET.

The meet will be broadcast on USATF.tv, NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports at various points throughout the week.

Among those competing for the title of top American in their respective events are 150 men who were collegians in 2013-14 from 96 different programs and 132 collegiate women from 76 programs as compiled by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
