Jan. 28, 2004

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second time in as many weeks, junior Montrell Person was named Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week. Person scored in three events for the Georgia Tech men’s track and field team last Saturday to help the Yellow Jackets finish fifth at the Clemson Invitational.

Person bettered his school record from a week ago in the 60-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 7.76 to cross the finish line first. The Merriville, Ind., native then ran a season-best time of 6.87 in the 60-meter dash to finish fifth in that event. The junior sprinter also ran a leg of the 4×400 meter relay that finished fifth with a time of 3:20.82.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action this weekend at the Gator Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 1. The all day meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
