Tech's Mahoney Takes Eighth in 800 Meters at U.S. Track Nationals

STANFORD, Calif. – Georgia Tech All-American Brendon Mahoney concluded his strong run at the USA Track and Field Championships with an eighth-place finish in the final of the 800 meters Sunday at Stanford University’s Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Mahoney, who finished seventh in Saturday’s semifinals, posted a time of 1:49.21 in the race. Former Tech standout David Krummenacker won the event with a mark of 1:47.24.

With the win Krummenacker, earns a spot on Team USA for the IAAF World Cup Track and Field Championships, slated for September in Madrid, Spain.
