Tech's Mahoney Finishes 13th in 1500 at U.S. Olympic Trials

1500 Semifinals Results

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Despite finishing with the seventh best time in the 1500 meters with a mark of 3:42.59, Georgia Tech All-American Brendon Mahoney missed qualifying for the finals by one spot at the U.S. Track and Field Trials at Hornet Stadium on Friday night. Mahoney finished seventh in his heat, with the top six from the two heats advancing to the finals.

Concluding competition for Tech at the Trials will be junior Montrell Person. Person, an All-American in the 110-meter high hurdles at the Outdoor NCAA Championships in June, will run in the qualifying round of the 110m hurdles at 3:35 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. The quarterfinal round of the 110m hurdles is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
