Tech's Leason Wins Triple Jump At Penn Relays

ATLANTA (Apr. 29) — Georgia Tech’s Malcolm Leason followed last weekend’s Atlantic Coast Conference championship in the triple jump by winning the event at the Penn Relays Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa.

Leason, a senior from Wilmington, Del., jumped a wind-aided 52 feet-4.75 inches as he outdistanced second place Tuan Wreh of Penn (52-1.75). Leason’s best wind legal jump was a personal-best 52 feet, 3.25 inches, which surpassed the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and was among the top five performances in school history.

Tech’s Chris Sinotte finished 13th in the javelin with a throw of 193 feet-11 inches.
