Tech's Depland and Lemons Lead Jackets at Kentucky Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Brandy Depland and sophomore James Lemons II tallied top-five finishes to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams on Friday night at the Kentucky Invitational. The indoor track meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Lemons posted a mark of 47’11.75″ in the men’s triple jump to finish second for the Yellow Jackets. Depland finished fourth in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 39’7.75″.

Freshman Jerome Miller cleared the bar at 6’6.75″ to finish in a tie for seventh place in the men’s high jump.

Leading Tech in the weight throw were seniors Dore’ Madere and Eric Massey. Madere tallied a personal-best toss of 52’10.25″ to finish ninth, while walk-on Massey finished 11th with a throw of 53’4.50″.

The Rambling Wreck men’s and women’s 4×800-meter relay teams posted times of 7:54.17 and 9:22.45, respectively.
