Tech Women's Tennis Falls to No. 3 Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM (March 12) — Georgia Tech lost the battle to the third ranked Deamon Deacons (7-1) 6-3 on Sunday, March 12. The Match was clinched in the first doubles match when Bea Bielik and Janet Bergman of Wake Forest defeated the Jackets’ pair of Sabrina Pardo and Bobbi Guthrie, 8-4.

The match had to be decided in doubles play after Tech grabbed two singles victories. Jaime Wong of Tech defeated Jackee Houston 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. Laura Ozolins helped out with her victory over Lean Miller in the no. 6 spot, 5-7, 7-5, 3-6. Mysti Morris took Wake’s Maren Haus to three sets before losing 6-0, 0-6, 6-4.

The only doubles pair from Tech to grab a win was Charlotte Pernet and Ozolins at the no. 3 spot, 8-5.

The Jackets return home to face the Furman Paladins on Saturday at 11:00 am.
