ATLANTA (AP) – Chris Bosh had 26 points and 14 rebounds in his college debut as Georgia Tech beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 113-75 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.
Marvin Lewis scored 28 and Isma’il Muhammad 15 as the Yellow Jackets had five players in double figures and never faced a critical situation.
Lamarquis Blake scored 20 for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, playing its first game under head coach Van Holt, but the Golden Lions had difficulty with Tech’s press, committing 19 turnovers, which the Jackets converted to 33 points. Chris Parker added 11 for the Golden Lions.
Tech also had a 63-33 rebounding advantage.
The Yellow Jackets opened with a 20-2 run and led by as many as 20 in the first half, and the visiting Golden Lions never got closer than 15 points.
Georgia Tech pushed its lead to 30 on Jarret Jack’s 3-pointer that made it 68-38, and the Jackets went up 104-70 on an alley-oop dunk by Muhammad.
