THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field team travels to Nashville, Tenn. to compete in the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track Complex.
Nine men’s teams and 11 women’s teams, including three Top 25 teams on the men’s side and two on the women’s side, will compete in the meet.
Action begins Friday at 5 p.m. with the men’s and women’s high jump. The Jackets will compete in the high jump and six additional events, ending the day with the men’s 5,000 meters at 8:40 p.m.
The Jackets kick off Saturday at 11 a.m. with the women’s triple and are slated to compete in 20 events, wrapping up the meet with the men’s 4×400-meter relay at 4:50 p.m.
In Tech’s most recent competition at the Auburn Invitational, junior Samantha Becker became one of the top five Georgia Tech indoor performers in the pole vault with a height of 12-01.50.
Broderick Snoddy enters the meet with the second-fastest 60-meter time in the ACC at 6.71 and will compete in the 60 and 200 meters in Nashville.
In the field events, Nikita Kirillov owns the third-best pole vault in the league (16-08.75), while Julienne McKee holds the third-best long and triple jumps in the ACC (20-00.50 and 41-07.00).
