Tech Track Returns To Lexington for Rod McCravy Invite

ATLANTA – After a weekend off from competition, the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams return to the track at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday, January 28 and 29 in Lexington, Ky.

The meet will be run like the Kentucky Invitational held two weeks ago with field competition starting on Friday night followed by a day of track and field on Saturday.

Friday’s competition will consist of the weight throw, triple jump, women’s pole vault and men’s high jump and everything will begin at 6 p.m.

The women’s high jump, men’s pole vault and long jump will kick off at 10:15 on Saturday morning followed by the shot put and the first track event of the weekend will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 60 meter hurdles.

The Jackets will take part in the 60 meter hurdles and 60 meter dash prelims and finals, mile run, 400 meter run, 800 meter run, 200 meter run, 3,000 meter run, and will finish competition with the 4×400 meter relay around 7 p.m.

At the Kentucky Invitational on January 14 and 15, the Jackets registered 13 top-10 finishes, with eight coming from field events and five on the track side of things. Joanna Wright notched the lone victory on the weekend for the Huskies in the pole vault, earning the win in a jumpoff.
