Tech Track Returns To Clemson For Tiger Paw Invitational

ATLANTA – For their final tune up before the ACC Championships, the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams will head back to Clemson for the Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday and Saturday, February 11th and 12th.

The meet will be the third-straight for the Jackets who have competed already in back-to-back weekends at the Rod McCravy Invitational at the University of Kentucky, January 28 and 29 and the Virginia Tech Elite Meet last weekend.

The meet also marks the third trip to Clemson this season for Tech. The Jackets began their season at the Orange and Purple Winter Classic at the beginning of December and attended the Clemson Invitational at the beginning of January.

Tech is coming off of a successful weekend at the VT Elite Meet where senior Antonio McKay Jr. earned a first place showing in the 400m Dash Invitational race setting as season best time of 47.09 which also ranks 20th in the country.

The meet will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday as both the Long Jump and 1,000m run will kick off at the same time. The track events on the first day include the aforementioned 1,000m run, 500m run, 300m dash, 5,000m run, 60m hurdles prelims and finals, 60 meter dash prelims and finals, the mile run and the 400m dash. On the field side of things, following the long jump will be the weight throw, high jump and pole vault.

The meet will begin with the shot put on day two at 9:30 a.m. The other field events to take place include the triple jump and invite pole vault. On the track side, things will kick off with the distance medley relay at 11 a.m., followed by the open 400m dash, 800m run, 200m dash, 3,000m run, and will conclude, as usual, with the 4x400m relay.
