The Georgia Tech track and field team hosts the Georgia Tech Invitational at the Griffin Track this Friday and Saturday. Action begins Friday at noon with the hammer throw while competition Saturday is set to begin at 11 a.m. with the women’s high jump.
Parking
Fans wishing to attend the meet on Friday can park at the North Deck for the hourly rate. On Saturday, fans can park in the Klaus Deck or Lower Peters for $5.
Jackets in Action
Ashleigh Uhl will kick off the meet for the Jackets, competing in the javelin throw on Friday evening. Both Nathan Daniel and Nikita Kirillov will participate in the pole vault which will be followed with six Jackets competing in the women’s long jump. Kamilah Bakari and Spencer Allen will represent Tech in the hurdles while Broderick Snoddywill compete in the 100m dash.
Three Jackets will participate in the women’s 1500m run while seven will compete in the 1500m run on the men’s side. Kaylee Issacs will compete in the 3000m steeplechase. Ten Jackets will race in the women’s 5000m while five men will compete in the 5000m to close out Friday’s portion of the invitational.
The first Jackets on deck on Saturday will be Bakari who will compete in the women’s high-jump and Samantha Becker who will compete in the women’s pole vault. In the triple jump will be Jasmine Bush, Julienne McKee and Carissa Tipler and on the men’s side will be Jonathan Gardner.
Three Tech women and 10 Tech men will compete in their respective 800m runs. Jazymyne Taylor and AZ Reese will represent the Jackets in the 400m dash. In the 400 hurdles, Ama Larbi, Rockne Burns and Julian Darden will all compete. For the women’s 200m dash, Larbi and Tipler will compete while on the men’s side Spencer Allen, Reese and Snoddy will compete.
