CLEMSON, S.C. (May 15) — At the Orange and Purple Invitational hosted by Clemson University, Georgia Tech’s Andria King captured the women’s 100 meter high hurdles with a time of 13.00, while the men’s 4×400 relay team defeated East Carolina University with a time of 3:04.56, and Chris Sinotte won the javelin throw with a mark of 197’2″.
For the women, King also finished first among collegiate runners with a time of 11.41 in the 100 meter dash, while Linda Liska and Judy Johnson finished first and second respectively among collegiate competitors in the 1,500 meter run, and Jennifer Ledbetter finished first among collegiate athletes in the high jump with a mark of 5’5″, and Regina Tate finished third with a jump of 5’5″ on her third try. Sara Pardue placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.15.
In the men’s competition, Jonas Motiejunas finished second among collegiate competitors in the 400m with a time of 45.91, while Michael Johnson finished fifth with a time of 46.51. In the 1,500 meter run, Brad Mills placed third among collegiate athletes with a time of 3:56.50.
Georgia Tech will host the Georgia Tech/Reebok Invitational May 21 and 22nd at the George C. Griffin track and field facility.
