LEXINGTON, Ky. – At the end of the first day of the Rod McCravy Invite, the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track teams recorded four top-five finishes at Nutter Field House in Lexington, Ky.
The first event of the day for the Jackets was the Pentathlon. Sophomore Alex Braxton finished fourth in the event with a career-high 3,483 points and junior Monique Pate finished sixth with 3,372 points. Freshman Donjhae Jones took 13th with 3,133 points.
In the field events, junior Julienne McKee finished third in the long jump invitational with a season-high leap of 6.01m (19-08.75). On the men’s side, freshman Myles McDavid also placed third in the long jump invitational with a distance of 7.30m (23-11.50).
Senior Mykhail Chambers took third in the high jump at 2.07m (6-09.50) and Brandon Mbaba took fourth at 2.02m (6-07.50).
Senior Elena Hubbard logged a career-best time in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:29.37. Fellow Jackets Laura Nelson and Elizabeth Lacksen also competed in the same event.
