ATLANTA – This weekend the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are set to host the Georgia Tech Invitational, a nine-team meet held from Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
This year, Clemson, Emory, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech, along with host team Georgia Tech, will participate in the three day meet.
Friday and Saturday, the preliminary rounds will start at 10 a.m. with the finals to kick off at 6 p.m. On Sunday the times are moved up and the prelims will begin at 9 a.m. with the finals to take place at 3 p.m.
The meet will kick off on Friday morning at 10 a.m. with the preliminary rounds of the 500-Free, 200-Fly, 50-Free and the women’s 1-meter and men’s 3-meter dive. That night will play host to the 200-Free Relay followed by the final rounds of the 500-Free, 200-Fly and 50-Free, women’s 1-meter and men’s 3-meter dive and will conclude with the 400-Medley Relay.
Saturday’s events will be the 200-Medley Relay, 400-IM, 100-Fly, 200-Free, 100-Breast, 100-Back, women’s 3-meter and men’s 1-meter dive and the 800-Free Relay.
Sunday will conclude with the 1,650-Free (aka the mile), 200-Back, 100-Free, 200-Breast, 200-Fly, Platform diving and will wrap up with the 400-Free Relay.
Tech’s last time out was a couple of weeks ago at when they played host to Clemson and Western Kentucky on Friday night and Penn State on Saturday morning. On Friday, the women came away with a win over Clemson while the men dropped both. Saturday, the Jackets fell to the Nittany Lions in their first ever meeting with the Big 10 team.
