Tallahassee, Fl – Georgia Tech recorded five-first place finishes on day one of the FSU Fall Classic.
The women for Georgia Tech swim and dive were able to finish the day with three first-place performances. Freshman Elizabeth Powley recorded a 253.90-point in the 1-meter diving event to secure a first-place victory in her collegiate debut. Clarissa Sabin took home first place in the 100 Breast, with a time of 1:02.21.
Overall, the women currently hold the third-place spot with 87 points.
Georgia Tech swept both the women and the men’s 400 IM races. McKenzie Campbell finished with a first-place time of 4:22.49 for the women, while Nils Bognar finished with a time of 3:56.36.
The men for Georgia Tech concluded day one with three-first place finishes as well. In the 400 free relay, the team of Batur Unlu, Leandro Odorici, Robin Yeboah, and Berke Saka finished with a time of 2:58.43 for the top spot. Then in the men’s 3-meter diving event, Max Fowler scored 375.10 to round out the gold medals.
Joao Caballero also recorded a second-place finish in the 100 Breast, with a time of 55.49. The relay team of Berke Saka, Joao Caballero, Leandro Odorici, and Robin Yeboah completed the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:29.36, finishing in second place.
Through 36 events, the men sit in second place with 106 points.
