Tech Sweeps ACC Volleyball Honors

ATLANTA – For the third consecutive week, the Georgia Tech volleyball team swept the Atlantic Coast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week awards as junior outside hitter Maja Pachale earned her first ACC Player of the Week award of the season, while freshman setter Kele Eveland (pictured) was named the league’s Rookie of the Week for the fourth time.

Winners of eight consecutive matches, Georgia Tech defeated Clemson and Florida State last week to improve to 7-1 in conference play, good for first place, and also picked up a non-conference win over Florida A&M to improve to 17-4 overall.

Pachale, from Schwerin, Germany, averaged 6.38 kills and 2.75 digs while compiling a .506 hitting percentage for the week.

Eveland, a freshman from Grand Rapids, Mich., averaged 11.18 assists per game for the week, including 74 assists against Florida State and 35 versus Clemson.
