ATLANTA – Georgia Tech has sold out its ticket allotment for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, director of athletics Dave Braine announced Wednesday.
Tech put its allotment of 21,000 tickets on sale Dec. 21, the day the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl announced its invitation to the Yellow Jackets to play in the Dec. 29 game at the Georgia Dome. Wednesday, 14 days later, Techs orders exceeded the number of tickets available.
“This is a tremendous demonstration of the excitement level that exists among our alumni and fans to be playing in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl,” said Braine. “It’s a great show of support for our football team, which has enjoyed a tremendous year.”
The Yellow Jackets (9-2, 6-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference), ranked 15th nationally in the Associated Press writers’ poll and 17th by the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll, will play LSU (7-4) from the Southeastern Conference. Tech has seven straight wins heading into the bowl and is playing in a bowl game for the fourth straight year.
