Tech Relays Excel on Day Two of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The women’s 4×200-meter relay team of Ashlee Kidd, Tenisha Griggs, Jacqua Williams and Andriane Lapsley and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Griggs, Fatmata Fofanah, Lapsley and Shantia Moss tallied runner-up finishes with times of 1:34.04 and 54.63, respectively, to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Penn Relays on Friday.

The women’s 4x100m relay team of Moss, Kidd, Lapsley and Williams clocked a NCAA Region and season-best time of 44.28 to cross the finish line in eighth place in the Championship of America division.

Freshman Juan Cave posted a fourth-place finish in the men’s high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 8 ¼ inches. Freshman Mellany Stanislaus tallied a 16th-place finish in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 37 feet, 4 ½ inches.

The men’s Distance Medley Relay team of David Herren, Brandon Duckett, Derek Hoye and E.C. Gibbs clocked a season-best time of 9:59.13 to finish in 16th place for the Yellow Jackets.

The meet will conclude on Saturday and can be followed on line at Live Results.
