Tech Records Personal Bests at Florida Relays

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field started off the Florida Relays with multiple personal bests and top performances in several running events.

Tech had top 10 performers in both the men’s 1500m and 3000m steeplechase. In the men’s 1500m, Nick Nyman led the Jackets in fourth place (3:47.64, PR) followed by Charlie Smith in fifth (3:48.38, PR) and Leif Andersen in ninth (3:50.99). Cole Miller (9:00.12, PR) and Tristan Autry (9:09.47) led Tech in the steeplechase with second and third place finishes.

On the women’s side, Reagan Mahoney (4:41.53) and Sophie Boice (4:43.44) finished with personal-best times in the 1500m.

In the 5,000 meters, Erin Fegans led the women with a seventh-place time of 17:52.34. Devin Wade (14:43.38) and Joey Sandel (14:47.78) competed for the men, finishing in 11th and 13th place.

Two Jackets recorded personal bests in the sprints and hurdles events. Sheleah Harris ran a time of 23.75 in the women’s 200m and Jackson Sexton finished with a time of 54.60 in the men’s 400m hurdles.
