BLACKSBURG, Va. – Georgia Tech track & field started competition in Blacksbrug, Va. on Friday at the Doc Hale Elite Meet.
The day was highlighted by Taylor Grimes who posted a season best in the women’s 60 hurdles. Grimes finished third at the event after posting a time of 8.33 seconds. She also competed in the women’s long jump placing seventh with a mark of 5.74m.
Sheleah Harris took part in the women’s 60m and tied a personal best in the event with a time of 7.60 seconds good for fifth in the event.
A pair of Jackets secured top 10 finishes in the 400m. Lydia Troupe finished seventh in the women’s 400m with a time of 57.42 seconds, good for a season best. Jameson Miller raced in the men’s 400m placing ninth with a time of 48.85 seconds.
Sarah Burwell rounds out the top 10 performers for the Yellow Jackets. Burwell finished ninth in the women’s 3000m posting a time of 10:46.22.
The White and Gold will be back in action on Saturday with day two of the Doc Hale Elite Meet. Nicole Fegans will be at the JDL Camel City Invitational competing in the 3000m.
