ATLANTA — The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team will continue its fall tournament season this weekend by hosting the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the Tech campus Friday-Sunday. The tournament will feature a number of players from around the southeast with two draws of singles and doubles play getting under way at 8 a.m. on Friday morning.
The Yellow Jackets will be represented by six singles players in the field, including four competitors in the “A” singles draw and a pair playing in the “B” draw. Heading up the performers in the “A” draw will be juniors Jason Pieters and Scott Schnugg, who are seeded seventh and eighth respectively. Both players will open play on Friday at 8 a.m., with Pieters facing Clemson’s Jermaine Jenkins and Schnugg squaring off with Winthrop’s Michael Kuiecien. The remaining Tech players in the “A” draw include junior West Nott and senior Fabio Campos.
A pair of Jacket rookies will be competing in the “B” singles draw, as Marko Rajevac and Trevor McLeod will both make their home debuts on Friday. Rajevac will face South Carolina’s Kazuya Otani at 9:30 a.m., while McLeod will match-up with Georgia State’s Nicolas Lupica, who is the fourth-seeded player in the bracket.
Tech will also have doubles team playing in the event, although pairings and match times will not be announced until Friday morning.
