PITTSBURGH – Georgia Tech volleyball (17-13, 6-11 ACC) fell to No. 10 Pittsburgh (29-1, 17-1) 3-0 on Wednesday night in Petersen Events Center. Tech meets Louisville on Friday for its regular-season finale.

Tech kept it close in the first set. The Panthers took an early lead but the Jackets put together a 3-0 run to come within one at 14-13 on a kill from freshman Mikaila Dowd. Pitt stayed ahead, pushing back out to a four-point lead at 20-16 and Tech called its first timeout. The 10th-ranked Panthers kept rolling and took the set at 25-19.
The Panthers took the lead early once again but the Jackets hung in there, using a 4-1 run sparked by sophomore Grace Rigsbee to bring the score within one at 10-9. Pitt moved its lead back to four but Tech battled to bring the score to 16-15 on back-to-back attack errors by the Panthers. Pitt took two in a row to lead by three at 18-15 and Tech called its first timeout of the set. Freshman Mariana Brambilla tallied a kill coming out of the timeout to bring it back within two but Pitt once again pushed ahead to lead 21-17 and Tech used its second timeout. The Panthers only gave up one more point and Tech dropped the second set 25-18.
Pittsburgh carried the momentum into the third, jumping to a 10-4 lead and Tech called its first timeout early. The Panthers just kept on rolling, moving the lead to 18-8 and the Jackets used their second timeout of the set. The Jackets were unable to get back into the set and dropped the third 25-10 to fall 3-0.

The Jackets close out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 23, when they travel to Louisville, Ky., to take on the Cardinals. First serve is slated for 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
