Tech Downs North Georgia, 12-4, in Softball

ATLANTA The Georgia Tech softball team defeated North Georgia State and University, 12-4, in 11 innings on Sunday afternoon at Glenn Field. Senior Kristina Hull and sophomore Whitney Haller each hit home runs to pace the Yellow Jackets.

Haller finished the game with three runs batted in, while Hull went 2-for-5, with a double, home run and two RBIs.

In the circle, senior Sarah Wood worked the first three innings, allowing no hits and striking out four. Junior Whitney Humphreys and sophomore Lacey Richardson each worked three innings, while newcomer Tiffany Johnson threw the final two.

Junior Aileen Morales was a perfect 4-for-4 in the game, with two walks, two doubles and one RBI. Johnson finished 2-for-5, with a double and one RBI.

Senior Caitlin Lever drove in a run for Tech, going 3-for-5, with a double for the Jackets, while newcomer Jennifer Yee went 2-for-5, with a walk and one RBI.

The Jackets will close out the fall season this Saturday, Oct. 21, against Georgia Perimeter College. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Glenn Field.
