Tech Doubles Tandem 19th In Preseason Doubles Rankings

ATLANTA (Sept. 13) — Georgia Tech’s women’s doubles tandem of sophomore Mason Miller (Gainesville, Ga.) and senior Sabrina Pardo (Aix En Provence, France) is ranked 19th nationally in the preseason collegiate rankings released Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Miller and Pardo were the highest ranked doubles team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The duo ranked as high as 31st last season before ending the year 40th. Miller and Pardo compiled an 11-3 overall record while splitting time between the No. 1 and 2 doubles positions. Of their 11 wins, three were against ranked teams, two of which were in the top 15.

The preseason rankings ranked the top 100 singles players and top 50 doubles teams in the nation for both men and women. The voting was done by the ITA national ranking committee.

Miller and Pardo were the only Tech men’s or women’s players ranked in the preseason.

The Yellow Jacket women, under the direction of first-year head coach Bryan Shelton, open their fall season by hosting the Georgia Tech/Holiday Inn Midtown North Fall Invitational Sept. 24-26 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.

Georgia Tech’s men’s team opens its fall season the weekend of Oct. 1-3 at the Clemson Fall Tennis Classic.
