THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field teams finished up the first day of competition at the Clemson Invite on Friday, Jan. 13.
Jamir Gibson was the top performer in his first meet competing for the Jackets. Gibson earned a third-place mark of 20.40 meters (66-11.25) in the men’s weight throw.
In the men’s 600m, Jameson Miller took home fourth with a personal-best time of 1:19.21. Ilene Soleyn ran a time of 56.83 in the women’s 400m, finishing ninth in the event.
Anna Witherspoon finished 11th (8.60) and Taylor Grimes finished 12th (8.62) in the women’s 60-meter hurdles. In the women’s 60-meter dash qualifying round, Sheleah Harris ran a time of 7.41 to finish in 12th place overall.
