Tech Completes Day Two At ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Georgia Tech track and field team completed day two Friday at the ACC Indoor Championships at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. Six Yellow Jackets qualified for the finals in their respective events set for Saturday.

After two days of competition, the men’s team is in 10th place with three points and the women’s team sits in 12th place with four points.

Broderick Snoddy qualified for the 60 meters (6.80) and the 200 meters (21.38) finals Saturday. His 200-meter time is one of the five fastest times in Tech history.

Julienne McKee moved on in the long jump with an eighth place finish with a jump of 5.91m. Jasmine Kent just missed advancing to the next round with a 10th place finish in the same event with a distance of 5.87m as only the top nine qualify for the finals.  

Shawn Roberts finished first in the preliminary round of the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.62. Teammate Zack Fanelty earned the last qualifying spot, finishing in eighth place with a time of 1:51.48.

Mykhail Chambers finished eighth in the high jump to earn Tech one team point. Chambers leaped to a distance of 2.09m.

Myles McDavid earned Tech two team points with a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 7.22m. Jonathan Gardner just missed scoring for Tech with a ninth place finish (7.10m).
