NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Georgia Tech men’s tennis players took the court against Vanderbilt players Friday in day one of the Commodore Invitational. The Yellow Jackets went 3-4 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play.
The No. 8 ranked pairing of Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel went up against No. 51 Troost/Ross of Vanderbilt winning the match 8-5. In singles action Chen Dong defeated No. 123 Marcus Ferreira of Vanderbilt, 7-5, 6-2. Ángel Guerrero Melgar took Siim Troost of Vanderbilt to three sets winning 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Brandon McKinney won his match against Michael Ross 7-6, 3-6, 6-3.
Day two of the Commodore Invitational is Saturday when Georgia Tech players take on players from Memphis and Lipscomb. Full results from day one are below.
