ATLANTA, Ga. – Georgia Tech swimming and diving dominated Emory in Friday’s match. The Jackets finished with a combined score of 404.5 points which bulldozed over Emory’s total score of 192.5 points.
Tech had multiple athletes earn multiple wins throughout the 32-event meet. On the men’s side, Mert Kilavuz championed the 500 Free (4:27.41) and 1650 Free (15:19.03). Nils Bognar also had success in two events for the Jackets, 200 IM (1:49.35) and the 200 Back (2:02.06). Lastly for the men, Berke Saka ended the day with podium finishes in two events, placing first in the 100 Back (49.85) and 200 Back (1:48.13).
On the women’s side, McKenzie Campbell championed two events, the 200 IM (2:04.49) and the 200 Butterfly (2:02.71). Caroline Pape also claimed victories in two events, the 50 Free (24.04) and 100 Free (52.23).
Freshman Vivien Rothwell tied for first place with Emory’s Megan Jungers in the 100 Back with a time of 56.73.
Diver’s Anna Bradescu and Max Fowler continue to dominate the boards as they both ended the day with first place finishes in both the 1- and the 3-meter dive.
The women’s 400 Medley relay (Vivien Rothwell, Sabyne Brisson, Zora Ripkova, Sophie Murphy) finished with a first-place time of 3:47.23. Also, for the women, the 200 Free relay (Sophie Murphy, Zora Ripkova, Jillian Ferrari, Caroline Pape) finished in the top spot with a time of 1:34.64.
