2024 (Freshman): Played in 36 games starting 26, mostly at catcher … finished his first year on The Flats with a .214 average, hitting four home runs and driving in 15 RBI over 84 at-bats … drew 12 walks for a .330 on-base percentage … hit a solo home run in his very first collegiate at-bat in the season opener against Radford (Feb. 16) … hit a second home run just two at-bats later against Cornell (Feb. 25) giving him two home runs in his first four college ABs … took control of the catcher position as the season went on starting five of Tech’s six postseason games behind the dish … secured first-career multi-hit and multi-RBI game against Kennessaw State (April 23) going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI … hit a three-run home run in the Regional Final against Georgia (June 2) to put GT ahead, 4-2 in the second inning, and record his second three-RBI performance … finished with one stolen base vs. Georgia Southern (April 10) … stood out for his arm behind the plate, Lackey succesfully caught six baserunners trying to steal in his freshman campaign
High School: Rated as the No. 16 catcher out of the state of Georgia by Perfect Game … Three-year letterwinner at Collins Hill … Named a captain his senior season … Named all-state, all-region and all-county in 2023 … Selected to 2023 Georgia Senior All-Star Game … Hit .328 in 24 PG games in 2022, recording 21 hits, 14 RBI and just six strikeouts.
