2022 (RS Freshman): Appeared in nine games throughout the season, pitching in May after recovering from Tommy John Surgery … In limited at-bats, hit .273 for the season, with three extra-base hits … Went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI against Wake Forest (March 20) … Also recorded an RBI triple at Kennesaw State (March 22) in his lone start of the year … Appeared in the field in the NCAA Knoxville Regional against Campbell (June 5), did not take an at-bat … Made first pitching appearance since March 8, 2020 when he pitched 0.2 innings against then-No. 3 Miami on May 1, 2022 … Pitched a full inning at Akron (May 16), allowing no hits and striking out one … Allowed two runs in 0.1 innings in the season-finale, series-sweeping victory at Pitt (May 21) … Pitched his most meaningful game on June 4 in the NCAA Knoxville Regional against Alabama State (June 4), allowing just one run on three hits in two full innings, striking out two and walking none.
2021 (Freshman): Made just five appearances before season-ending injury required Tommy John surgery … Received medical redshirt … Finished year with 2-0 record, one save and a 6.75 ERA … In 8.0 innings of work, allowed six earned runs and sported a whopping 14:0 strikeout to walk ratio … Made collegiate debut against Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 19) where he surrendered four earned runs in 1.2 innings and received the win … Allowed just two runs over the next four appearances … Dominated at eventual College World Series participant and then-No. 8 NC State (Feb. 27), dealing 3.0 innings to close, striking out seven and allowing just two hits in the save … Made final appearance of the year with a three strikeout inning of relief against Pitt on March 13.
2020 (Freshman): Made seven appearances in the shortened 2020 season … Finished 1-1 on the season with one start … Recorded 9.0 innings of work, striking out 15 and walking just three to hold opponents to a .250 average … Finished with a 9.00 ERA … Made his collegiate debut against St. John’s (Feb. 16) … Had shutout appearances against Ohio State (Feb. 21) and Gardner-Webb (Feb. 25) … Went 3.0 innings in his first collegiate start against Tennessee Tech (March 3), allowing just one run and two hits while striking out five with no walks … Finished the year not allowing an earned run in back-to-back appearances against Virginia Tech (March 7-8) for a combined 1.2 innings.
Before Tech: Perfect Game’s 16th-ranked right-handed pitcher and a No. 31 recruit overall in the state of Georgia … A four-year letterwinner at Richmond Hill and a two-year captain … Helped pitch Richmond Hill High School to a 19-11 and 6-6 league record in 2018 … Dealt an impressive 71 strikeouts in 48 innings for six wins and a 0.29 ERA … Also punched out 27 in travel ball in 2018, only allowing 10 hits in 18 innings of work … Allowed just two runs this year for a 0.80 ERA and a 1-0 record … Pitched four-straight shutout innings to close the season … Also had a fine year at the plate where he hit .265 for 13 hits, including six extra-base hits and two homers for 10 RBI … Named team MVP for the team in 2019 as well as all-Region for pitching … Currently holds the all-time wins record (20) at Richmond Hill as well as the all-time home run record (20) … For his career, he pitched 94.2 innings and struck out 124 at a 3.6:1 clip … As a junior, he finished 6-2 with a 0.29 ERA and one save, fanning 71 batters (12 walks) and surrendering 25 hits in 48 innings … As a sophomore, he went 3-1 with a 1.27 ERA, striking out 39 batters in 33 innings.
