Solomon Shatters School Record

Final Results

Boston, Mass. – The Yellow Jackets traveled with senior transfer Chris Korabik and senior Nahom Solomon in the BU Season Opener.

Solomon ran in the 5000m event, shattering the previous school record he set with a time of 13:41.48. His time was the third-best of the day, second best in the nation.

Korabik also ran well as he ran in the 3000m event finishing 11th overall with a time of 8:31.43.

“It was a really nice effort from Chris today, just four seconds off his personal best from almost three years ago — such a great start to the season for him. But the story today is Nahom’s huge personal best in crushing his school record last year. To open his final season this way is just a huge credit to his work ethic and desire. We knew he was fit and today we saw how tough he is,” men’s distance coach Alan Drosky said.

Both events ran by Korabik and Solomon were their first runs of the season.

The men’s and women’s team will both compete next in Clemson, S.C. at the Clemson Invitational on Jan. 11-12.
