ATLANTA – Georgia Tech senior first baseman Whitney Haller will be featured on ACC All-Access which will air Thursday at 6 p.m. on Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas and Fox Sports Tennessee. It will also re-air Friday at 9 a.m. on SportsSouth.
Haller is currently third on the team and fourth in the ACC batting .411 this season. She has eight doubles, eight home runs and leads the league with 43 RBI. She also has a .685 slugging percentage and a .486 on-base percentage while only committing one error at first base.
Haller, who is the all-time Georgia Tech and ACC career home run and RBI leader, is a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award which honors the top senior student-athlete in the nation.
Haller and the Yellow Jackets are ranked 21st in this week’s ESPN/COM/USA Softball top 25 poll and take their 32-11 record to Charlottesville, Va., for a three-game weekend series at UVA (Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.; Sunday at 1 p.m.). Tech has won all four of its ACC series’ this year and seven in a row dating back to last season.
Also on this week’s program will be an ACC baseball round-up and a Hog Blog on scholarship recipients. The ACC has four teams in the Baseball America Top 25 Poll, with North Carolina ranked No. 5, Georgia Tech at No. 12, Miami at No. 13 and Virginia ranked No. 19. ACC All Access takes a closer look at the success the conference is having in baseball and highlights the best games of the past week.
And in the ACC All Access Hog Blog, Mike Hogewood spotlights the 42 ACC athletes who were named recipients of the Weaver-James-Corrigan and Jim and Pat Thacker Scholarships, which are given to select ACC student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate-level degree following graduation.
