Slayden Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech right fielder Jeremy Slayden was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week. Slayden hit .786 (11-for-14) with four home runs and 17 RBIs in four games to help lead Georgia Tech to a perfect 5-0 record last week.

Slayden posted a 1.714 slugging percentage and a .850 on base percentage for the week. Against William & Mary, Slayden went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs. He followed that with a 3-for-5 performance, including a home run and three RBIs against Georgia Southern.

After missing the opener of the Wake Forest series with a sprained ankle, Slayden went 3-for-3 with a home run and a career-high eight RBIs on Saturday against the Demon Deacons. He was 1-for-1 with a walk and two HBP in the series finale on Sunday. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native helped Tech establish a new ACC record with 22 straight regular season conference wins.
