Sixty-Eight Yellow Jacket Student-Athletes Set To Graduate

May 5, 2011

ATLANTA – Sixty-eight current and former Georgia Tech student-athletes and student managers are candidates to graduate this semester. Graduation ceremonies are set for Sunday from noon-3:30 p.m. in the Georgia Dome.

The graduate candidates include current football players Tyler Melton, Michael Peterson, Albert Rocker and Logan Walls, who will all play this fall as graduate students. Mansfield Wrotto, a standout offensive lineman for the Yellow Jacket football team from 2003-06, recently finished up his degree requirements.

John-Tyler Griffin, Paul Haley and Kyle Scott – three seniors instrumental in leading Georgia Tech to its third straight Atlantic Coast Conference golf title recently – will graduate Sunday.

Women’s basketball standout Deja Foster, a six-time Dean’s List honoree, three-time captain and part of the winningest class (91 wins) at Tech, will graduate.

Three current members of Tech’s nationally-ranked baseball team – Kevin Jacob, Jeff Ussery and Taylor Wood – are eligible to graduate.

School record holders Kayla McKeirnan and Joanna Wright highlight the list of track graduates. McKeirnan set the school record in the pentathlon (indoor) and heptathlon (outdoor) at this year’s ACC Championships while Wright continuously broke the pole vaulting school record throughout her senior campaign to help herself to her first All-American honor.

Two-time All-American and school record holder in the one and three-meter dives, Hannah Krimm will be a part of the 2011 graduating class. Krimm was recently honored with the ACC Post-graduate scholarship and will use it in her pursuit of her master’s degree.
