Sion Leads Georgia Tech at Clemson Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – Georgia Tech senior Zeb Sion finished first in the men’s shot put with a mark of 56’10.25″ to lead the track and field team at the Clemson Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Montrell Person ran a NCAA qualifying time of 7.30 in the men’s 55m hurdles to finish in third place.

Freshman Jerome Miller and sophomore Jennifer Sims tallied second-place finishes for the Jackets in the men’s triple jump and women’s 800 meters. Miller posted a mark of 6’8.75″, while Sims logged a time of 2:14.68 in the 800.

Senior Jonathan Spillman recorded a third-place finish for Tech in the men’s shot put with a mark of 53’10.50″. Sophomore James Lemons II registered a fourth-place finish in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 46’4″, while freshman Antoinetta McKay finished fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.32.
