THE FLATS – Seven members of the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will compete in the ITA Southeast Regional from Oct. 17-20 at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Georgia Tech serves as this year’s host of the ITA Southeast Regional. Play begins at 8 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The finals will start at 9 a.m. on Monday. Draws, results and the overall schedule will be updated daily on the ITA Southeast Regional central page.
Six Yellow Jackets will compete in the main singles draw while one will play in the B singles draw. The round of 64 for the main singles draw and the round of 32 for the B singles draw will be played on Friday. Three Yellow Jacket doubles teams are slated to compete in the main doubles draw. The main doubles round of 32 and round of 16 will be played on Friday morning.
Freshman Johnnise Renaud has been tabbed the number eight seed of the main singles draw. Renaud will face off against UCF’s Caroline Eberhart on Friday in the first round. Junior Natasha Prokhnevska, who is the 118th ranked singles player in the ITA, is the number 15 seed of the singles main draw. Prokhnevska plays Georgia State’s Kristin Rehse in the first round.
Freshman Paige Hourigan matches up with Jordana Klein of Georgia Southern in the first round of the main singles draw. Sophomore Rasheeda McAdoo will play fellow ACC opponent Silvia Fuentes of Miami. Also competing in the main singles draw is sophomore Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer. Anton-Ohlmeyer also faces a Miami Hurricane, matching up against Sinead Lohan. Freshman Alexis Prokopuik takes on Georgia State’s Niriantsa Rasolomalala in round one.
Freshman Vooha Vellanki is slated to face Florida Atlantic’s Lyndsey Boos in the first round of the B singles draw.
In the main doubles draw, Proknevska and Renaud take on Perez and Gould from Georgia in the first round on Friday at 8 a.m. Also competing in the doubles main draw is Hourigan and McAdoo. The duo faces FIU’s Koroleva and Caluk at 8 a.m. Prokopuik and Anton-Ohlmeyer square off against Stetson’s Michaud and Dean also at 8 a.m.
