ATLANTA – With the 2009-10 basketball season just around the corner, Georgia Tech announced Tuesday the sale of season tickets for men’s and women’s home games.

Tickets may be purchased online or by calling 888-TECH-TIX.

Head coach Paul Hewitt’s team, ranked 13th in the nation in the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, welcomes back four starters from last year’s unit, including senior forward Zachery Peacock, junior forward Gani Lawal, junior point guard Maurice “Moe” Miller and sophomore guard Iman Shumpert. The Jackets have also added the nation’s fourth-best recruiting class, which includes the top-rated player in the nation, forward Derrick Favors.

Season tickets for the Georgia Tech men are $415 for a 16-game home schedule that features eight ACC games, including defending national champion North Carolina and Atlantic Coast Conference champion Duke, as well Southern California and Siena on the non-conference slate. Season tickets for faculty members are $332.

TECH Fund seat contribution levels apply depending on the seat locations.

Adults may purchase women’s basketball season tickets for $65, while children 18 and under and senior citizens 55 and older season tickets are only $45. Single game tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. With promotions and special events at select match-ups, Tech home games offer affordable fun for fans of all ages. Fans can also purchase a Georgia Tech Fan Pack for $175, which includes four season tickets.

Tech will host at least 13 games, including the opening round of the 2009 Preseason WNIT. Fans who purchase season tickets will receive a special season-ticket holder T-shirt, enjoy reserved seating at all home games and will get priority registration for special events through out the season.

Georgia Tech, coming off its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and its third consecutive 20-win season, returns nine letterwinners including starters Alex Montgomery, Sasha Goodlett and Brigitte Ardossi for the upcoming season. The Yellow Jackets also welcome a recruiting class ranked in the nation’s top 20.
